Custom Logo Sticker Printing Guide: File, Size, Shape and Material

Short answer: To print logo stickers you need a vector logo file (AI, PDF, SVG) or one at least 300 DPI, a size, a shape (round, square, oval or die-cut to your logo) and a material suited to where it will be used. Coated paper for boxes and shipping, opaque PP for bottles and damp products, and clear labels for glass and transparent packaging are the most popular choices. For small orders, sheet format is the most economical.

A logo sticker is a small brand's cheapest and most effective advertising tool. On the shipping box, the product packaging, the thank-you card, the bag seal... the moment customers open the package, they see your brand. Here's everything to check, from file to material.

1. Is Your Logo File Print-Ready?

Your file has the biggest effect on print quality. A good machine can't save a bad file.

  • Vector is best: If your logo is AI, EPS, PDF or SVG, it prints razor sharp at any size. If a designer made your logo, ask for the vector file.
  • Using PNG/JPG: The file should be at least 300 DPI at the sticker's actual size, e.g. at least 600x600 pixels for a 50x50 mm sticker. Logos saved from WhatsApp, Instagram or your website are usually low resolution and print blurry. See our DPI guide.
  • Colour mode: Printing uses CMYK. Neon and very bright screen colours may print slightly duller.
  • Bleed: If the background runs to the edge, extend it 3 mm on each side. Keep text at least 2-3 mm inside the edge. Our template tool calculates this for you.

2. Choosing Shape and Size

When choosing a size, make sure the smallest text in your logo stays legible. A slogan or web address may not be readable on stickers under 30 mm. See also our round labels guide.

3. Choosing the Material

  • Coated paper: Shipping boxes, paper bags, gift packs. Most economical, vivid colours.
  • Opaque PP: Bottles, cosmetics, refrigerated products, outdoor use. Waterproof and tear-resistant.
  • Clear: Glass, clear boxes and bags. Only your logo shows; the background disappears.
  • Metallized: A silver metallic look for premium products and gift boxes.
  • Textured: A natural, matte surface you can feel, for handmade and boutique products.
  • Hologram: Eye-catching, hard-to-copy stickers with a rainbow effect in the light.

4. Sheets or Rolls?

If you'll apply logo stickers by hand in small to medium quantities, sheet stickers are the most practical and economical option, with no plate costs. If you ship large volumes every month or use a labelling machine, roll labels lower the unit cost. To start small, read our small-batch label guide.

5 Ideas to Make Logo Stickers Work Harder

  1. Add a thank-you message: A "Thanks for choosing us" sticker leaves an impression when customers open the box.
  2. Add a QR code: A QR code linking to your Instagram, review page or a discount code turns the sticker into a measurable marketing tool.
  3. Use it as a seal: A round sticker on the closing point of a box or bag looks smart and shows the package hasn't been opened.
  4. Print two sizes: A large one for boxes, a small one for products and lids. Same design, different uses.
  5. Refresh for the season: A small design change for holidays and special occasions keeps your packaging fresh.
