What is an Opaque PP Label?

Otiket Opaque PP Roll Label is a rigid plastic label, not paper. It does not stretch, is very hard to tear by hand and is unaffected by water, humidity or oil. It also stands up to outdoor conditions, temperature changes and chemicals better than other labels.

It is the professional choice wherever coated paper is not enough: bathroom products, cold storage, chemical bottles and more. Its bright, smooth surface gives a premium look that strengthens your brand.

Roll labels have a thinner liner than sheet labels and are much faster to apply on a labeling machine. PP itself resists oils and chemicals, but strong chemicals can still fade or smudge the print. Is Opaque PP label affected by water?

No, absolutely not. Thanks to its plastic (Polypropylene) structure, it is 100% resistant to water, moisture, oil, and even many chemicals. It can be safely used on washable products.

Which ribbon should I use for printing?

Since Opaque PP labels have a plastic surface, "Resin Ribbon" gives the best results. Prints made with resin ribbon gain smudge-proof properties against alcohol, cologne, and abrasion. Wax ribbon should not be used on this label (the print will erase).

What is the difference between Opaque PP and Opaque PE (Polyethylene)?

Both are plastic-based, but Opaque PP (Polypropylene) has a rigid structure and does not stretch. Opaque PE (Polyethylene), on the other hand, is soft and can stretch with the product. PE is preferred for squeezable packaging like shampoo bottles, while PP is preferred for hard surfaces.

Can it be torn by hand?

No, Opaque PP labels cannot be torn by hand; they will only stretch (elongate) if forced. They need to be cut with scissors or a cutting tool. Thanks to this feature, their shelf life is very long.
