Short answer: Round labels are the most popular shape for jar lids, box seals, logo stickers and bag closures. The most common diameters are Ø 30, 40, 50 and 60 mm. Choose coated paper for dry products, opaque PP for damp and cold products, and clear labels for glass and transparent packaging.
The round label is one of the simplest yet most effective label shapes. Your logo in the middle, your brand name around it... The eye reads circles quickly, which is why round is almost the standard for seals and logo stickers. Here's how to choose the diameter, material and design.

Uses by Diameter
| Diameter | Where It's Used |
|---|---|
| Ø 20-25 mm | Small information labels like price, "new" or "vegan"; jewellery boxes |
| Ø 30-40 mm | Bag closures, tissue seals, small jar lids, dropper bottle caps |
| Ø 50 mm | Box seals, standard logo stickers, candle jars |
| Ø 60-70 mm | Honey and jam jar lids (82 mm lid), coffee packs |
| Ø 80-100 mm | Large box tops, promotional and event stickers |
For lid labels, measure the flat top of the lid and choose a label about 10 mm smaller. More on jars: jar label guide.

Oval labels on textured paper: round and oval shapes stand out on boutique products
Which Material?
- Coated paper: Boxes, bags, dry food lids. The most economical option.
- Opaque PP: Refrigerated jars, cosmetics and bathroom products. Water and moisture resistant.
- Clear: Glass jars, clear boxes. Only your design shows.
- Textured: Handmade soap, candles, boutique food. A premium texture you can feel.
- Metallized: A silver metallic look for premium gift boxes and cosmetic lids.
- Hologram: Authenticity seals and eye-catching logo stickers.
Round Label Design Tips
- Design from the centre: Place the logo dead centre. On a circle, the eye goes to the middle first.
- Use circular text: Setting your brand name or slogan along the edge of the circle gives a classic, elegant seal look.
- Stay away from the edge: On round cuts, text near the edge is the first to get cut. Keep important elements at least 3 mm inside.
- Don't forget bleed: If the background runs to the edge, make your design 6 mm larger than the diameter (3 mm all round).
- Less text, bigger logo: An ingredients list won't fit on a Ø 40 mm label. Use round labels for logo and brand, and leave details for the body label.

What Affects the Price of Round Labels?
Diameter, material and quantity set the price. Smaller labels fit many more per sheet, so the unit price drops. More detail: label printing prices.
